| Title | Traffic complaints in a small but growing Atlantic Canadian city |
| Abstract | The City of Moncton, New Brunswick had a census population of 80,000 in 2021. With the city poised to reach a population of approximately 100,000 in the year 2026, traffic congestion has become noticeable. In a city where traffic was not historically a concern and few investments were made to manage congestion, residents are now noticing the increase in traffic. Also, like many Canadian municipalities, there has been increased pressure from residents and politicians to invest in traffic calming. The oddest and most difficult comments to analyze and respond to will be presented by the City's Transportation Engineer in PK Slam format. Additionally, the question of how city resources should be spent to address these comments will be raised with some thoughts based on experience. |
