| Title | Intelligent Infrastructure: Integrating AI, CAD, and Geospatial Workflows |
| Abstract | The architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry is under unprecedented pressure to deliver complex, resilient infrastructure on continually shrinking timelines. As project demands accelerate, design professionals are often hindered by time-consuming, repetitive tasks within their computer-aided design (CAD) software, limiting their capacity for high-value innovation. This session will explore how we are integrating artificial intelligence directly into core design workflows to automate tasks, reduce costly rework, and empower users to deliver better projects, faster. We will detail our user-centered design process, which has led to AI-powered features that dramatically lower the barrier to entry for custom automation and enhance critical workflows like site design with data-driven insights. A key focus will be on how AI is making powerful automation accessible to every designer, not just programming experts. We will demonstrate how users with little to no programming experience can create custom tools using natural language. To accelerate adoption, the session will also highlight Python scripts for geospatial context automation, with practical examples for connecting to and querying Esri Feature Services and OGC Web Feature Services (WFS). Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how to incorporate these AI-powered tools into their daily operations. Through demonstrations, we will show that these intelligent features are not theoretical concepts but practical solutions already being used to optimize workflows and shape the future of infrastructure design. |
