Session Title ST - Transportation Structures
Title Optimal Approach for Addressing Reinforcement Corrosion for Bridge Decks
Abstract

The intent of this report is to use high strength reinforcement to reduce the total rebar weight
and make use of the superior corrosion resistant properties as opposed to epoxy-coated rebar. This report will show the two different designs of the deck slab using the following criteria:
1. ASTM A775 (original design)
2. ASTM A1035
Note that only the transverse section is designed for, along with the reinforcement requirements for shrinkage and temperature effects in the longitudinal direction. The material savings for the longitudinal reinforcement over the piers for negative moment is conservatively assumed.

Presentation Description (for App) Cracks control contributes to bridge decks service life, positively.
