Title | Utility Relocations on the Pattullo Bridge Project: New Westminster and Surrey, BC |
Abstract | The Pattullo Bridge Project in Surrey and New Westminster, BC required a variety of utility relocations at both ends of the bridge. The new bridge features a cable-stayed design, towers 166.5m high, spans 1,233 meters long, and has two in-river piers reduced from the current six. The new traffic lanes at both ends encroached on water, sanitary, and storm assets owned by the City of Surrey, City of New Westminster, the Ministry of Transportation Infrastructure (MoTI and now MOTT), and Metro Vancouver. Relocation was started in 2023 and substantially completed by early 2025. City of New Westminster:
