Session Title EN - Design and Delivery of Wildlife and Ecological Connectivity Infrastructure Across Canada
Title Reconnecting the Rockies
Abstract or description

The Reconnecting the Rockies Wildlife Connectivity Program

In what Brian Banks of Canadian Geographic called “the most ambitious wildlife project in Canada right now” we will investigate the Reconnecting the Rockies project.  On the British Columbia side of the Reconnecting the Rockies project will look to fence off 27 kilometers of Highway 3 and retrofit 5 bridge structures to allow for wildlife passage, construct a new underpass and a wildlife overpass near the Alberta border.  Alberta Transportation will be working west from Coleman to fence off XX kilometers of Highway 3 and incorporate wildlife underpasses and an overpass to help animals pass over this increasingly busy traffic corridor.  We will look into the driving forces behind the project, some of the constraints, and opportunities.
