This presentation delves into the innovative application of Ouster Lidar technology for Surrogate Safety and V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) scenarios, with a focus on compelling use cases observed in British Columbia. Ouster, a leading provider of digital Lidar technology, offers a turnkey solution that integrates seamlessly into Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to enhance traffic safety and operation efficiently. 
The presentation uncovers the significant impact of Ouster Lidar in several key surrogate safety applications, including real-time near-miss detection, identifying risky pedestrian behaviors, and providing insights into the time and conditions of red-light violations traffic enforcement and safety.
The presentation also explores the integration of Ouster Lidar into the V2X infrastructure with an overview on case studies sharing vulnerable road users’s location with connected road users over RSU or Virtual RSUs. 
We will also walk through the performance of the system in multimodal traffic actuation.
