Title Traffic management strategies for P3 projects
Abstract

There are currently several major transit infrastructure projects under construction in the City of Toronto. Some of these projects include Eglinton Crosstown LRT, Finch West LRT, Scarborough subway extension, etc. Due to the scale of these projects, each of them, when under construction could noticeably impact the mobility. In order to minimize the impacts of on going transit construction projects comprehensive traffic and transit management plan for each of these projects are being developed which identifies the impact of each of these individual projects on mobility. However, since the construction of these projects are happening concurrently, there is a need to investigate the impact of these mega projects on mobility at macroscopic level to identify the mitigation measures that could improve the mobility within the city at network level. This presentation will provide different types of traffic control solutions and highlight traffic management strategies at mesoscopic level which could minimize the disruptions to the existing operations during the construction of major P3 projects.
