| Title | Toolkit for Transit Technology Innovation |
| Abstract | The rapid pace of innovation in transit technology and ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) has been accelerating over the past several years, which may leave transit agencies and municipalities feeling overwhelmed while trying to keep pace. The Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO), in partnership with Left Turn Right Turn (LTRT), developed a Transit Technology Toolkit to provide transit and public transportation professionals across the province with the understanding and resources required to successfully identify, implement, and maintain appropriate transit technology and ITS for their organizations. The toolkit was developed with an Ontario-focused perspective and includes several case studies from communities across the province. The presentation would introduce participants to the Transit Technology Toolkit and provide an overview of some of the tools and resources available. | Presentation Description (max. 50 words) | This presentation will introduce the Ontario Ministry of Transportation's Transit Technology Toolkit, published in January 2023. The Toolkit is a public guidebook to support Ontario's small and medium-sized municipalities, transit system operators, and Indigenous communities to navigate the emerging landscape of transit technologies. |
