Session Title ST - Transportation Structures
Title Accelerated Bridge Construction Technologies and Innovations Using Precast Concrete
Abstract

This presentation will discuss precast resources that can be used for accelerated bridge construction projects. (ABC) is a precast concrete bridge construction process that uses state-of-the-art planning and design, innovative materials, more intelligent procurement, and advanced construction methods to reduce the time and effort required to build new and replace or rehabilitate bridges. Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute Northeast (PCINE) Bridge Technical Committee published updated recommended guide details that include many new connections and options for precast substructures. An overview of the guideline will assist designers in determining the appropriate solutions for precast substructures in design and construction. Precast Deck Panels, CPCI, NU Girders and NEXT beams will also be reviewed. Several case studies will showcase the versatility of precast used in ABC applications.

Presentation Description (max. 50 words) Accelerated Bridge Construction is an advanced method of bridge-building techniques to construct new and rehabilitate bridges quicker with less effect on the environment.
