Title | How to Create A 360 Video for Teaching High Pressured Clinical Situations |
Rationale/Background | Most clinical teaching is taught when the need and the situation arises. However some situations do not lend itself for this. Barriers to this would include: 1. Minimal exposure previous jobs by clinician 2. Highly pressurised situations (lethal pathology) so teaching is not appropriate. 3. Small working space around a patient limits patient contact to direct patient care only 4. Few high quality teaching resources available One example is a major trauma victims who presents in cardiac arrest. This is a rare situation, where every moment that passes reduces the survival rate. Many clinical staff are involved. Very few high quality resources exist at regional or national level in the UK. A high quality 360 video, can be used by multiple staff groups to view the scenario as a whole or focus on their role. The user can turn the viewing angle to anywhere in the room. These videos can be viewed on a computer or project, or for a more immersive view, using a dedicated 360 headset. |
Instructional Methods | Step by step on how a 360 video is created. The two streams are the technical aspect of shooting and editing such a video and the other is how to create such a clinical scenario. A working example used for the session will be a medical cardiac arrest. In groups, teams can develop a script, story board as well as consider the equipment and personal list required to make such a video. |
Target Audience | Clinical staff involved in teaching high pressure situations. These can arise anywhere where there are patients with life threatening pathology and/or limited time or resources to deal with it. |
