| Brief Description of Presentation<\/th>\n\t\t\t\t\t | LGBTQ+ youth report higher rates of substance use compared to their peers. Substance use among LGBTQ+ youth decreases when youth can identify environments that are supportive to their lived experiences, making the case for trauma-informed, culturally responsive behavioral health services. To address the unique needs of Georgia's LGBTQ+ youth with substance misuse, a transformational, theater-based training was designed to enhance affirmative therapeutic environments within substance use programming. The training incorporated theater as an interactive programming modality that supported experiential learning and behavior change. The theater-based training was designed by Theater Delta under the guidance of a Community Advisory Board (CAB) and sought to increase provider knowledge and awareness, promote dialogue, provide trauma-informed strategies, and support providers to navigate conflict and miscommunications rooted in conscious or unconscious biases. This workshop will highlight core components of the training implementation and explore the utility of theater as a modality for adult education and training purposes. <\/td>\n\t\t\t\t<\/tr>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t |
