Abstract Summary The International High Performance Computing Summer School (IHPCSS) holds a special place within the landscape of Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) training provided by local and regional partners of DRAC. It is an expense-paid, in-person event that brings together leading experts in high-performance computing and big data analytics with students seeking to build these skills. A distinctive feature of IHPCSS is its strong mentoring component, which offers guidance not only on technical topics but also on broader academic and career development. This presentation will briefly highlight Canada's history of participation in IHPCSS and provide an overview of the Digital Research Alliance of Canada's two-year pilot project that started to sponsor Canadian participants. In the second year of this pilot, the Alliance has strengthened its engagement in the global HPC community by sending instructors and a representative, further increasing its visibility and impact within the program.
