Length of Presentation
Rationale/Background
When planning continuing professional development (CPD) activities, the importance of having an effective Scientific Planning Committee (SPC) is paramount.1,2 The need for planning committees with superb skills and knowledge capacities is essential to a highly functional CPD system. Guidelines about the roles and best practices of the SPC are rare in the Canadian context, but necessary in order to meet the needs of health professionals lifelong learning.
The goal of this workshop is to discuss educational and ethical principles for SPCs to use as they develop relevant and effective CPD while meeting national accreditation standards.
