| Issue/Objective |
The Canadian Conference for Global Health (CCGH) is the largest gathering of global health researchers, practitioners, policymakers, advocates, students, and community mobilizers in Canada. It serves as a unique platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and advancing global health solutions, both in-person and online. During my practicum, I worked within the CCGH awards and monitoring and evaluation teams, where we launched a call for awards nominations, and developed a comprehensive framework designed to assess the conference's impact and effectiveness, with the goal of applying it to future CCGH events. |
| Methodology/Approach |
A monitoring and evaluation framework was developed in collaboration with CCGH's various working teams to identify key performance indicators aligned with the conference's objectives. A logic model and performance measurement framework (PMF) were created to guide data collection, establish baselines, and set targets. Based on the identified indicators, a 28-question survey was designed to evaluate the conference's success across multiple dimensions of engagement, learning, and impact. |
| Results |
Data collected through the monitoring and evaluation framework will be analyzed following the conference and synthesized into a comprehensive report to inform future planning and continuous improvement. |
| Discussion/Conclusion |
The monitoring and evaluation framework emphasizes the importance of accountability, evidence-informed decision-making, and continuous learning, while also addressing past implementation challenges and identifying opportunities to enhance future conferences. |
